Welcome to Fountain Run First Baptist Church
We're Glad You Are Here
Our Story
Fountain Run First Baptist Church was built in the early 1940’s with a group of people who believed in sending the message of the gospel around the world. They met for a year in the funeral home next door. When it came time to begin construction, dug the basement of the church by hand with shovels, picks, and mule powered pond scoops. Timber was cut from member’s farms and turned into lumber so the church could be erected. Folks would give what they could to pay for the building. Sometimes it was money, but other times it might have been some eggs or even a chicken! Those things would be taken and sold so God’s work could continue here. In those days, God’s people did what it took to see the church and the Kingdom of God grow.
Over the years, the people of Fountain Run First Baptist would continue to do whatever it took to see the church and the Kingdom grow. The Christian Life Center, housing our basketball gym and kitchen, were built so ministry could continue to grow and people would hear the message of Jesus and find saving faith in Him. Then, The 3:16 Building was built near Norrod Family Field across the street from the church, where things like egg hunts and soccer ministries take place… all to the end that the message of the gospel may be heard far and wide.
